Child and Adolescent Counselling

Children and Adolescents experience a variety of physical, social and emotional changes as they move through their developmental milestones.

These times can be challenging and at times confusing as children try to balance their physical and emotional changes.

While some periods of adjustment are a necessary part of growing up, therapy may be considered when:

  • Disrupted eating and sleeping patterns

  • Excessive emotional responses, such as overly sensitive, aggression or prolonged periods of feeling down

  • High levels of stress and anxiety

  • Withdrawn and lack of enjoyment in daily activities

  • Issues interfere with a child’s ability to carry out everyday tasks and activities

  • Challenges prevent children from doing the things that they would normally do

  • Seek constant and excessive reassurance

  • Low confidence and self esteem

Solution Psychology Centre’s experienced Child, Adolescent and Family Psychologists can work with children and adolescents in a safe environment helping them develop ways to use and build on their own resources.

Powerful and positive changes will bring resilient, lasting, life coping skills.

Therapy will also help parents to understand their child’s behaviour and emotional responses. Parents will develop valuable skills to help foster their child’s emotional growth.
